truck and discover the extraordinary stories behind seven World War II monuments!<\/p><p>During this special ride, you will travel along rural roads and enjoy the beautiful landscape. At each monument, a volunteer will tell the story behind it in three to four minutes. <\/p><p>One of the most remarkable stories concerns the monument at Wognum, where a crashed aircraft with six deceased crew members still lies beneath the A7 motorway. Thousands of people drive over this spot daily, unaware of what once took place there. <\/p><p>This tour offers a unique perspective not only on the surroundings but also on the history that lies literally beneath our feet. kleinkinderen de monumententour gedaan. We zijn gestart met een korte rondleiding door het museum. Na een kop koffie en een heerlijk stuk appelgebak stapten we in een echte legertruck, die ons langs verschillende oorlogsmonumenten in de omgeving van Medemblik reed. Nu komen we zelf uit deze omgeving, maar van veel monumenten wisten we het bestaan niet af. Indrukwekkend om te horen wat er zich in Wereldoorlog II heeft afgespeeld. Mooi om te zien en te horen hoe enthousiast de vrijwilligers van het museum zijn. Zij weten erg veel van de geschiedenis af en kunnen daarover boeiend vertellen. We hebben allemaal, van jong tot oud, genoten van dit bijzondere Met de rondrit in een GMC legertruck werden we rondgereden door de omgeving van Medemblik. Bij diverse monumenten werd gestopt en het verhaal verteld bij Oorlogsmonumenten.
