Named Fund

A Named Fund is best described as a charity within a charity. An individual, company, foundation, family, or charitable club—anyone can establish a Named Fund during their lifetime or via a will. You determine the name of the fund yourself, as well as its objectives, allowing you to contribute structurally to themes that you find important. Within War Museum Medemblik, these themes could include education, research, collection, presentation, and facilities for a specific target group.

The advantage of a Named Fund is that it can remain anonymous, no separate foundation needs to be established, no board members are required, and all of this saves time, money, and administration. The objectives you wish to assign to your own Named Fund must, however, align with the social goals of War Museum Medemblik.

Establishing a Named Fund
A Named Fund can be established at War Museum Medemblik starting from an amount of €25,000. This can be done through
a donation (via a one-time gift or a periodic donation), but also through a will.

Setting up a Named Fund proceeds as follows:
1. It begins with an introductory meeting with Sietske Rustenburg; she is one of the two founders of the museum and a volunteer relationship manager at War Museum Medemblik.
2. Together with you, she looks at which social goals within War Museum Medemblik align with your interests and wishes.
3. You choose a name for your fund yourself, and together we determine the duration.
4. The Named Fund is recorded by a notary.
5. War Museum Medemblik begins, in close consultation with you, managing the fund and the expenditure of the funds.
6. If you wish, we will keep you informed of the project’s progress and the results.
