Collection (Donating)
Thanks to the donation of objects, documents, and stories, War Museum Medemblik can tell the history of the Second World War in an increasingly complete and personal way. The objects and stories you donate are carefully managed and preserved by us for future generations. Do you have an object, photo, document, or personal story from the wartime period that you would like to donate? We would be pleased to hear from you!
We kindly ask you to first take a photo/video of the object and email it—along with a brief explanation or background information—to: collectie@oorlogsmuseummedemblik.nl This allows us to consult internally and assess whether it fits within our collection.
We aim to within five working days to respond to your email. Please note: Without an appointment, it is possible that your donation cannot be accepted because no authorized collection staff member/volunteer is present.
Museum Collection
At War Museum Medemblik, we have developed two exhibitions: one about the civilian side of the war and one about the military side of the war. In these exhibitions, we have placed matching tangible and intangible collections that bring the story to life. Visitors can view and discover these objects themselves through the interactive Experience Tours based on an Escape Room concept or in the more traditional way by walking around freely.
