Accessibility
War Museum Medemblik truly strives to be a museum for and by everyone. We therefore consider it important that both visitors and our own volunteers who have mobility issues or are wheelchair-bound experience as few restrictions as possible during their time at the museum. We are therefore proud to list the following facilities:
– A disabled toilet
– A disabled parking space
– An elevator
– The museum is wheelchair accessible
– Guide dogs are permitted
Wheelchair / mobility impaired
War Museum Medemblik is very suitable for wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments. Park easily in our disabled parking space, located 20 meters from the main entrance. With the exception of the small attic in the 1940s village, the entire museum is wheelchair accessible and seating is available in every museum room. We have an elevator in the ‘Road to Freedom’ exhibition space, and a disabled toilet is centrally located in the museum.
Visual or hearing impairment
The Museum Team is currently developing specialized offerings for people with visual or hearing impairments. Should you wish to visit the museum and have a visual or hearing impairment, we kindly ask you to call or email us so that we can explain the current possibilities.
Dogs
Only guide dogs are permitted in the exhibitions.
Tourists / non-native speakers
Both the Experience Tours and the information in the museum are available in Dutch, English, and German. This makes War Museum Medemblik very suitable for tourists and non-native speakers.
