ANBI and Objectives

War Museum Medemblik (Stichting Educatief W.O.II Centrum Medemblik) has been a recognized ANBI foundation since 2014. Since 2022, the museum has also been granted ‘Cultural ANBI’ status, which means there are even more tax benefits for supporting our foundation financially. Additionally, War Museum Medemblik has been an official Registered Museum since October 2022.

Our objective is: “Based on the situations and choices that influenced the course of the
Second World War (in one’s own environment), we want to encourage students and visitors to consciously reflect
on the choices they make and the consequences and responsibilities these entail;
in the short term, but certainly also in the long term.”

We stimulate this awareness by allowing children and visitors to return from their present to
this (local) past and by actively involving them in the various choices and situations people
faced at the time. Making choices is of all times and is not by definition right or wrong. It often appears
that there is an underlying story, which sometimes makes a choice seem incomprehensible at first glance.
Students and visitors can experience all of this in two exhibitions and during various activities
such as the Monuments Tour.

We believe it is important that everyone can visit us to experience these insights.
Schools can therefore visit us starting from €4.50 per student, and regular visitors
from €0 with the Museum Card or €10 for the regular price.
