With a regular admission ticket, you will receive a story guide. This guide leads you through all the locations in the village and helps you find the stories that are hidden in subtle ways. Each location tells a piece of local history and shows how people lived, worked, and helped each other during the Second World War. In the story guide, you will find a short chapter for each building with background information and clues as to where the stories are hidden. Pay close attention to your surroundings: you will find stories on maps, laundry, products, in cupboards, display cases, booklets, newspapers, and many more unexpected places.
Experience Tour | Experience the story from within
Would you like to experience the village and the stories in an interactive way? Then choose an Experience Tour ticket. During this interactive tour, based on the escape room concept, you will carry out assignments, solve puzzles, decipher secret codes, and discover hidden places. You will decipher coded phrases from Radio Oranje, trade on the black market in the grocery store, search for the hiding place of the illegal radio, discover the secret passage, and find a hidden attic hideout. Tens of thousands of visitors have already completed the Experience Tour and are enthusiastic about this unique, active way of visiting a museum.
Children’s Scavenger Hunt | Especially for the little ones
A scavenger hunt has been created especially for children for the exhibition Choices in Almersdorp. In every house in the village, a small photo frame is hidden containing an image and a letter.
With the scavenger hunt booklet, you will go in search of all these frames. For every find, you write the correct letter on the coloring page. Have you discovered all the locations? Then at the end, you can put all the letters together to solve a secret word and color in the coloring pages! You can request this scavenger hunt free of charge during your museum visit.
